Tällä kertaa vein kuvattavat viljelypalstalleni ja kastelin taimia sen aikaa, että naapuripariskunta lähti kotiin... heh..

This time I took the dolls to my allotment and watered my plants while I waited for the neighbor couple to leave for home.. hehe..

Kasvit on napattu ojanvarresta. 

The plants are from the path side.

Näistä tuli hienot puut. Pysyivät pystyssä parin pyykkipojan avulla.

These made perfect trees. They stood up with the help of two clothespins.

Penkin tein nopeasti parista Finnfoam eristyslevyn palasesta, jotka olen Erjalta saanut silloin vuosi sitten Meripäivillä. Tulivat käyttöön :) Ihan mahtava materiaali, mä tarvin ehkä sitä enemmänkin.

I made the bench from a couple small pieces of polystyrene insulation sheet. I got the pieces a year ago from Erja, finally got around to using them. Great material, I think I need some more.

 Helppo tapa tehdä, veitsellä muotoilin, iskin kiinnityskohtaan pari cocktailtikun puolikasta ja reilusti liimaa.

Easy as pie to make, cut and shape with a knife, I attached the two pieces with two half toothpick pieces and plenty of glue.

Maalattu akryylimaaleilla ja rautatieläisten viheraineella sammaloitu.

Tuo tekstuuri on mahtava.

Painted with acrylic paints and used railroad greenery for moss.

Ei tosin sitten kestä tarkempaa katselua takaa, koska tuohon sileään pintaan ei maali tarttunut. Olisi pitänyt vaan jaksaa veistää se kiiltävä pinta pois. Noh, tämä onneksi saa paikan seinää vasten. 

Don't look too closely from behind, the paint didn't stick on the shiny top. I should have just cut away the top layer. Oh well, this will be placed against a wall.

Pieni merenneito

Kesäloman kunniaksi kaivoin lattianrajasta luolan, joka on tyttöjen kanssa tehty vuonna nakki ja muusi.. Noh, tytöt ovat nyt 19 ja 14, ja tämä tehtiin kun vanhempi oli vielä ala-asteella...

Se on tehty vessapaperimassasta kanaverkosta taivutettuun malliin.

Siitä piti ihan alunperinkin tulla koti tälle reilut 20 vuotta sitten ostamalleni merenneidolle.

Eihän tähän mennyt kuin kolme päivää ja suurin osa ajasta meni odotellessa liiman kuivumista.

To start my summer vacation, I dug up and dusted this cave we made eons ago with the girls. Well, the girls are now 19 and 14, and this was made when the older was still in elementary school...

It's paper maché over a chicken wire base.

It was originally planned to be a home for the mermaid art doll I bought over 20 years ago. It took all of three days to finish, and mostly I was waiting for the glue to dry.

I've always love The Little Mermaid most of all of H.C. Andersen's fairy tales. The idea behind this is that you can find all sorts of odd things that have been rescued from the ocean floor. Some beautiful fabrics are hanging on the back wall.

Nukke itsessään on siitä erikoinen, että sillä ei ole käsiä.

The doll itself is unusual as it has no arms.

Ensin on liimatttu isoja kivia, sitten pieniä, sitten hiekkaa, sitten noita "kuplia" ja pikkuhelmiä.
Voitte vaan kuvitella miltä työpöytä ja lattia näyttivät aina kun käänsin luolaa ja ne, jotka eivät ollöeet liimaan tarttuneet ropisivat alas.

First I glued the bigger stones, then smaller ones, then sand, the "bubbles" and seed beads. You can only imagine what my desk and floor looked like after I tilted the cave to shake out the ones that had not attached to the glue.

The top of the cave has been decorated with sea shells, pearls and treasures.

The battery holder is hiding under a big shell.

Siellä se nyt on hyllyn päällä ilahduttamassa.

There it now sits on top of the shelf making me happy.
