Aikamatkailu alkakoon!

Kerhomme piti tässä kuussa toisen kesäleiriviikon. Viime vuonna nautittiin kuusi päivää. tällä kertaa ihan koko viikko. Aivan mieletöntä oli, voitte käydä lukemassa viikosta täällä.

Itselläni oli ihan lista, jotta saisin jotain tehdyksi, eikä menisi aika ihan vaan haahuillessa.

Our club held the second annual summer camp week this month. Last year we enjoyed six days of fun, this year we made it a full seven. It was amazing, you can see what we all got up to here.

I had a to-do-list, so I could focus on what needed to be done.

Ensimmäisenä listalla oli Tohtorin aikakone TARDIS.

Tilatut ledivalot olivat saapuneet, joten jäljellä oli vain katon rakentaminen ja valojen asennus.

First on the list was the Doctor's TARDIS.

The LED-lights I had ordered had arrived, so I needed to build a roof and attach the lights.

Ja seikkailut alkakoon!

Mihinköhän Tohtori ja Rose seuraavaksi suuntaavat?

I wonder where the Doctor and Rose head off next?

Paristokotelo on piilotettu katon alle. Valot palavat sisällä ja nupissa vilkkuu sininen valo ihan niinkuin pitääkin.

The battery is hiding under the roof. There's a white light inside and a blue flashing one on top.

Katon jouduin rakentamaan kahteen kertaan, kun ensimmäisestä tuli liian jyrkkä. 

Vielä kun tähän saisi jotenkin nuo äänet liitettyä...

I confess to having to build the roof twice, as the first one was too steep.

Now I have to figure out how to include the sounds....

Tohtorille

Joskus isojen projektien lomassa on kiva tehdä jotain pienempää.

Sometimes in the middle of huge projects, it's nice to do something smaller.

Oli aika tehdä Tohtorin TARDIS-aikakone. Pino konepahvia ja eikun tekemään laskelmia. Onneksi netin ihmeellisestä mailmasta löytyy viralliset mitat, joten niitä vaan pienentämään.

It was time to make the Doctor's TARDIS. I grabbed a pile of cardboard and started calculating. Luckily you can find exact dimensions on the wonderful world of internet, so all I needed to do was make them smaller.

Välillä testattiin näyttikö mittasuhde oikealta.

Had to check if it looked the right size.

Vihdoin pääsin liimaamaan ja maalamaan.

Finally I could glue and paint.

No niin! Nyt lähdetään!

Sisältä suurempi, tottakai.

Bigger on the inside of course!

Tuota..niin.. ei se vielä ihan valmis ollutkaan.. yläosa puuttuu.. Pitää nimittäin ensin tilata muutama led-lamppu, jotta saadaan valaistus kuntoon.

Ummm..sooo.. not exactly finished after all.. still missing the top.. I need to order some LED bulbs before the next step.

Päivä Kauppakylässä

Viikonloppuna kävi kuhina, kun oli tullut kutsu Kauppakylään käymään!

Fred ja George olivat heti tutkimassa Sulevin kaupan hyllyjä tarkasti. 

"Mitähän aineita noissa purkeissa on? Olisi niissä jotain uusia makuja meidän karkkeihin?"

The weekend was filled with excitement, as there was an invitation to visit Kauppakylä!

Fred and George were eagerly looking at the items on Sulevi's shelves.

"What do you think are in those jars? Maybe something could be used in our new sweets?"

Sulevi ilahtui silmin nähden, kun Esther käveli toimistolle.

Sulevi was so pleased to see Esther coming in.

Tosin ilme hieman venähti, kun mies tajusi, että oli jättänyt hiukan rohkean kirja huolimattomasti esille... Mitäköhän se Esther tuosta...

Estheriä vain hymyilytti, vai rohkeaa.. odotas kun näet kenet toin mukanani!

Although for a moment there he didn't know what to say as Esther noticed his daring book open on the floor... Esther was amused..wait until you see who I brought along!

Kaupan puolella porukkaa tuli koko ajan lisää, vaan kun myyntitiskin takana ei ollut ketään niin George hyppäsi sinne itse. "Mitäs laitetaan?"

More people were gathering at the shop, but there was nobody behind the till. George hopped there himself. "What will it be?"

"Jos laitettaisiin muutama loitsu noihin nallekarhuihin? Kuulostaa loistavalta!"

"I think we should add a few spells on those teddy bears. Oh, a brilliant idea!"

Luna kävi hakemassa Ginnyn mukaansa.. "Taisin nähdä tuolla jotain..tule äkkiä!"

Luna came to get Ginny.. "Come quick, I think I saw something!"

Esther oli tuonut vieraanaan Benin, jolla oli nyt debyyttiesiintyminen Regina Calientena. Sulevi meni ihan sanattomaksi.. Ovatko nuo oikeita simpukoita.. mitä ihmettä tämä nyt on.. 

Esther had brought Ben along, it was his debut performance as Regina Caliente.  Sulevi didn't know what to say.. Are those real sea shells.. what on earth..

 

 Esther päätti lähteä käymään Aksenjan kesähuonetta katsomassa, oli kuullut paljon kauniista sitruunapuusta. "Katso Esther, tuolla puussa on narksu! Ginny yritetään ottaa se kiinni!"

Esther sen sijaan katseli ympärilleen miettien, että pitäisi sanoa Benille, että tulee katsomaan näitä upeita orkideoita.

Esther decided to go see Aksenja's summer room, she had heard about the beautiful lemon tree. "Look Esther, there's a nargle in the tree! Ginny help me catch it!"

Esther was more interested in the magnificent orhids, she would have to tell Ben to come look at them.

 

Pikkuhiljaa ihmiset siirtyivät piknik-paikalle. Tohtori ja Rosekin saapuivat paikalle. Juosten, kuinkas muuten...

Slowly people moved to the picnic area. Even the Doctor and Rose arrived. Running, as usual...

James kertoi Estherille Marrakeshin matkastaan. Esther kertoi tuntevansa yhden lentävien mattojen tekijän siellä. Harmi, ettei niitä saanut laillisesti tuoda maahan.. olisi ollut loistava joululahja Weasleyn kaksosille. James lupasi katsoa, josko hän jästinä saisi sellaisen tuotua... 

James told Esther about his trip to Marrakech. Esther told him about the maker of flying carpets she knew there. Sadly it was illegal to import them these days... it would have made a perfect Christmas present for the Weasley boys. James promised to see if he could, as a muggle, bring one in for her..

Georgella oli ilme kirkastunut, kun luokse saapui se kaunis tyttö, jonka seurassa oli viihtynyt Meripäivillä edellisenä kesänä. Ja taisi Fredillekin löytyä seuraa. Kerrottiin huispauksen sääntöjä ja luvattiin viedä tytöt luutalennolle, jos uskaltaisivat.

George's smile widened as the pretty girl he had spent time with the previous summer arrived. Looks like Fred got company too. They explained quidditch to the girls and promised to take them flying on the brooms if they dared.

"Oletko ollenkaan muistanut ruokkia postipöllöäsi? En ole saanut sinulta viestiä pitkään aikaan. Kerrohan nyt oikein juurta jaksain kuulumisesi." 

Siellä hymyillen juttelivat loppuillan.

"Have you remembered to feed your mail owl? I haven't received any news from you for a while. Now tell me everything."

And there they sat smiling and chatting for the rest of the evening.

Ben jatkoi esitystään ulkona. Hauska burleskiesitys pienestä merenneidosta. Benia harmitti vietävästi, että esiintymismeikki oli vajaa. Meikkipaletti oli kotona kiireessä tipahtanut kylppärin lattialle ja luomivärit olivat menneet tuhannen muruiksi. Onneksi sentään meikkivoide oli säästynyt..

Ben continued his act outdoors. It was a funny little burlesque of a little mermaid. Ben was so upset his make up was only partial. He had dropped his make up palette on the bathroom floor as he was packing and the eye shadows had been broken into a million pieces. Luckily he hadn't dropped his foundation.

Kalle oli aivan mykistynyt Benin esityksestä.. Ohikulkijan korviin kuului keskustelua peruukeista ja esiintymisasuista. Ja puhelinnumerot vaihdettiin, jos Kalle vaikka haluaisi tulla käymään.

Charles was sold... Passersby caught talk about wigs and stage outfits. Phone numbers were exchanged, if Charles would like to drop by to see it all.

Meillä oli hieno päivä Annen vieraana.

Ihana Forssa!

On se vaan ihanan kamala rutistus joka vuosi, mutta eihän sitä voi väliin jättää millään!

Yhdeksäs vuosi myyntipöydän takana ja tänä vuonna mun pöydän laatikot sai raikastuksen valkoiseen. Kiitos neljän spraymaalipurkin :)
I love this fair, even if the preparation can feel like a bit of a pain sometimes. Can't miss it, it's the only fair I sell at. It was my ninth year behind the table, so I spruced up my boxes by using four bottles of white spray paint :)

Olin itse aivan halkipoikkikuittipinoon, edellisenä päivänä juhlittiin nimittäin kummitytön häitä. Eli jos huomasit haukotteluni, niin se ei johtunut siitä, että olisi ollut tylsää! Onneksi oli ystäviä, jotka huolehtivat etten nukahtanut pystyyn.

I was absolutely shattered, as we had been celebrating my god daughter's wedding the day before. Luckily there were friends around who made sure I wouldn't fall asleep standing.

Esther pakkasi kunnon eväät mukaan, pääsivät treffaamaan kesäpiknikillä Sulevin kanssa. Kuulikohan se Anne, mitä siellä juteltiin?

Esther packed up a lunch basket for the summer picnic happening. She had a lovely time with Sulevi. I wonder if Anne heard what they were talking about?

Rakastan tehdä löytöjä Mirjan pöydästä! Yleensä siellä tulee mieleen, että ihanaa kun sä olet tehnyt tuollaisen, niin mun ei tarvitse :D

Nämä ostin Mirjalta jo Lahdesta kesäkuussa. Siitä puuttuu pieni maalaus, jonka pistin talteen etten sottaa sitä. Se on kyllä todella tallessa... toivottavasti se jostain putkahtaa.

I love shopping at Mirja's table. My first thought tends to be: Oh great, you've made this! Now I don't have to :D

These I bought already at a fair in June. I also bought one of her tiny paintings, but I put it someplace safe so I wouldn't mess it up. A reeeeally safe place.. hope it pops up sometime soon.

Mirjalta tilasin myös Pepille iiiiiison vinkuran lettupinon. Tuo taitaa olla sellainen viiden litran taikina. Mukana myös muutama irtolettu, jonka voi liimata kattoon kiinni. Itse muistan tv-sarjasta nimenomaan sen lettujen paiston.

Sylissä Pepillä on uusi lemmikki: kilpikonna.

Mirja also made this amazing pile of crepes for Pippi. There are a few singles too, so I can attach those to the ceiling. Making crepes was my favorite bit in the tv-series.

Marialta mukaan lähti retro kahvikuppi ja rakastetun näköinen pöllö.

From Maria I found a cool coffee cup and an owl that already looks loved.

The comforter is from Anna, tiny crocheted pot holders by Katriina Aalto and the kitchen towel from Nina.

Hannan tekemä kaulakoru on Ginnylle ja nuo Tiinan laatat päätyvät Huvikummun keittiöön.

The necklace by Hanna will be Ginny's and the hexagon tiles by Tiina will end up in Pippi's kitchen.

Ei mun pitänyt Tarulta nukkea ostaa... tai siis piti, Frida (Kahlo). Mutta Frida ei valmistunutkaan.

Kun suurin ryntäys oli naapuripöydässä ohi, vilkaisin nukkeja tarkemmin ja kuinkas sitten kävikään.. siellähän oli Rose Tyler, Tohtorin matkakumppani! Onneksi kotoa löytyi jotain vaatetta ylle, vaikka ilmoittikin, että nämä eivät kyllä jää päälle pitkäksi aikaa. Jos ei parempaa tule, hän menee vaikka alasti! Onneksi sentään sai Hannan käsialaa huivin ja korun.

I wasn't going to buy a doll from Taru... well I did, but Frida (Kahlo). But she didn't finish Frida in time. After the biggest rush for dolls at the neighbor table was over, I had a better look and well.. what do you know.. I found Rose Tyler, the Doctor's companion! Luckily I had something for her to wear at home, although she is telling me that that if she doesn't get something more stylish soon, she'll go naked! Luckily I already got her the necklace and scarf by Hanna.

Ja sitten ehkä se kaikista tärkein tuliainen, ehjä vasen jalka! Se on kuulkaas vedettävä kirurgin kamppeet niskaan ja vaihdettava jalka :)

And finally the most important item of all, Pippi's left foot to replace the broken one! I have to pull on a surgical mask and replace it :)

Ensi vuonna onkin juhlavuosi, kymmenennet Forssan markkinat!

Tuossa syksyn puolella tuli kerhossa tehtyä tälle Tohtorille ne kuuluisat Converset jalkoihin.

Hieman haastetta oli, koskapa kaverilla oli jo ns. kengät jalassa. Siksi nuo näyttävät vähän hassun mallisilta, mutta kyllä ne kelpaa.

During one Club meet last fall, I finally got the Doctor some shoes on. Converse naturally. It was a bit tricky as the doll already had molded shoes on. Hence the slightly funky shape of the shoes. But they'll do.

Siinä se nyt taas juoksee kravatti liehuen!

 Takki on työn alla h.i.t.a.a.s.t.i koskapa päätin tehdä siihen punaisen silkkivuoren.

There he runs again his tie flapping.

His jacket is in the works s.l.o.w.l.y since I decided to make a red silk lining in it.

I'm turning my older daughter's abandoned orchid to Pippi Longstocking's house.

The toughest bit is to sand the rough rendering on the outer walls so I can glue on wood siding.
