I've been making fire all weekend!

 Kaivoin tuollaisesta patterituikusta ytimen esiin, ja otin turhat reunat pois.

Sitten teippasin patterin paikoilleen maalarinteipilla, jonka maalasin. Maalasin myös tuon lampun päällä olevan "liekin" tummemmaksi.

I started with a LED battery-operated tealight, that I took apart. 

I taped the battery on it and painted it black. I also painted the "flame" darker.

 Takkapuut liimasin mustaksi maalatun pahvin päälle. Puita liimatessa oli patterituikku paikoillaan, jotta siihen jäi sopiva kolo sille. Ja kun liima oli kuivunut, tuputin mustaa myös halkoihin.

The firewood was glued on top of a painted piece of cardboard. I had the LED light in place while I glued, so it fits in perfectly. Once the glue dried, I dabbed black paint on the logs.

Sitten otin esiin hiiliä (pienoisrautateiden matskua) ja punaisen ja kuparisen hileen sekoitusta ja viimeistelin hehkun.

Then I added coals (model railroad material) and a mix of red and copper glitter for glow.

 Olen tosi tyytyväinen näihin.

I'm really happy with these.

 En ole massaillut aikoihin, mutta tänän viikonloppuna teki mieli.

Kurpitsoiden teko on lempipuuhiani.

Tämä kolmikko on jo valmis.

I haven't taken out the clay in ages, but this past weekend I felt like it.

Making mini pumpkins is one of my favorite things.

Paras työkalu tämän vihanneksen tekoon on tuo 2mm metallinen sukkapuikko, muuta työkalua sormien lisäksi en käyttänyt.

The best tool for shaping these is the 2mm metal knitting needle, the only tool I used besides my fingers.

Vielä olisi 12 odottamassa maalia pintaan.

Akryylimaalia, joku kuitenkin kysyy ;)

Ja tämä on ihan oikea kurpitsalajike nimeltään Fairytale pumpkin.. muistattehan, samannäköisestä tuli Tuhkimon kärryt!

I have 12 more waiting to be painted.

It's a real pumpkin variety called Fairytale.. you remember Cinderella's carriadge was made from something similar!

Yksityiskohtia

Kaivoin massat esiin ja tein kynttilät noihin kynttiläjalkoihin.

I got the clay out and made candles for all the candlesticks in the fireplace.

Yksityiskohtia (ja varsinkin sitä tavaraa) on tuolla hyllyjen päällä melkoisen paljon.

There are lots of details (and s.t.u.f.f.) on top of the shelves.

 Takaseinällä tulevan "oven" alku.

The back wall houses the other fake door in beginning stages.

 Esther ja Hagrid ovat hyviä kavereita, on yhteisiä harrastuksia, niinkuin näkyy ;)

Esther and Hagrid are great friends with common interests, as you can see..  ;)

 Yksi olkkarin muutoksista oli muutaman pikkutaulun siirto, jotta sain paikan Estherin äidin muotokuvalle, joka on melko kookas. ja tuo pöydänalus suorastaan kirkuu tarvetta saada jotain sinne... ehdotuksia?

One of the changes in this room was to move a few smaller paintings to make room for the fairly large portrait of Esther's mother. And the empty space under the table is simply screaming for something... any ideas?

 Etuseinä on vielä saranoita vajaa, koska haluan saada siinä kaiken valmiiksi ensin.

The front wall hasn't been hinged yet, as I want to finish everything on it first.

 Nuo rusehtavat verhot korvaan jollain aurinkoisemmalla, joka sopii tuohon oviaukon oranssiin verhoon.

The tan curtains will be changed to something a bit sunnier to match the doorway curtain.

Ja kappas, Esther on paikalla, tosin takki päällä, koskapa muuta vaatteet uupuvat vielä ..

Next door to the bedroom is her workroom (in front of the bathroom).

And Esther's here, wearing her coat as she has no other clothes at the moment...

Siivoamista Estherin makkarissa

On talon järjestys päässyt muuton aikana kärsimään.. ajattelin samalla yrittää saada kaikkia tavaroita mahtumaan. Kirjoja piti laittaa iso kasa tuohon takan viereen, mutta mietin että missä kummassa ne ovat.. kunnes tulin tänne tietsikan viereen ja kappas, tuossahan ne ovat :)

I've been cleaning Esther's house slowly as everything got jumbled when the house was moved. I've also tried adding in all the stuff I have for her. I was looking for the big pile of new books I just made, couldnät find it.. until I came to sit by the computer here and here they are, right in front of my nose :)

Mutta on tänne uuttakin tullut!

Verhot ovat paikoillaan. Kuten on myös tuo uusi valeovi, joka mukamas vie portaikkoon.

But I also have some new stuff in.

Curtains are in place! As is the new fake door that leads to the nonexistant staircase behind the wall..

Tuohon ikkunoiden väliin olisi tulossa vielä pieni pöytä, jolle olisi ihana saada gramofoni. Jos jollain on tiedossa mistä sellaisen ihanan isotorvisen voisi hommata?

Between the windows I still want to add a small table and a gramophone. If anyone can tip me to the direction of a lovely old fashioned one?

Ulos kaupan molempien oven molemmin puolin tulee tämmöiset lamput. Ostin paristokäyttöiset led-lamput, niin ei tarvitse miettiä sähköjohtoja aukeavaan julkisivuun.

Vielä kun keksisi miten nuo kiinnittäisi...

I bought lamps to go on both sides of the shop door. These are battery LED-lights, so I have no hassle about wiring on an front-opening dollhouse. 

Now if I can just figure out how to attach these...
